On Sunday, President Vladimir Putin attended an Easter Mass conducted by the Russian Orthodox church. The Russian Orthodox Church strongly supported the Kremlin leader’s “special military operation” in Ukraine.

Putin, amb un vestit blau fosc i una camisa blanca, anava vestit amb una corbata lila fosc. També sostenia una espelma vermella encesa. Es van mostrar imatges en directe del servei de mitjanit.

Kirill, who spoke at an outdoor service in Moscow Saturday, said that he hoped that the conflict in Ukraine would be resolved quickly, but did not condemn it. His support for Russia’s intervention in Ukraine, which was condemned by Kyiv, the West, and other nations, has splintered the worldwide Orthodox Church.

Russia claims it is conducting a special military operation against Ukraine that aims to demilitarize and “denazify” the country. The West and Ukraine reject this pretext as baseless.
